Auburn Systems

Auburn Systems invented the first electrostatic / triboelectric dust monitor soon after the promulgation of the 1970 Clean Air Act, which identified particle (dust) pollution as one of six criteria pollutants. Continuous Opacity Monitors (COMs) were the prevailing technology available for monitoring fine dust emissions; however, since low sensitivity light meters only respond to visible emissions when pollution levels have risen to dangerous levels, Auburn recognized the need for a more effective alternative. Electrostatic dust emission technology is accepted and specified by the US EPA for effective monitoring of particulate emissions in the US and around the world.
